1. Is my credit card number safe? |
Yes.
The page you sign up on is secure and your credit card number is encrypted when it is sent to us. You are charged by our in-house billing department each month. Your credit card number is NOT stored online or in the site database.
|
2. Does ArtActiveOnline do anything else with my account information? |
We absolutely DO NOT sell, trade or give away one iota of our members’ account information to anyone.
|
3. Why do you have to have my e-mail address? |
Your e-mail address is necessary to administer your account, and is the only way we communicate with you. All forums and critiques are monitored by ArtActiveOnline staff; your address is necessary if we need to contact you about a problem.
|
4. What is the difference between my e-mail address and my public e-mail address? |
Your required e-mail address is for the use of ArtActiveOnline administration only. If you wish to be contacted by any members or viewers who visit the site you may activate the same e-mail address or a different one in the "Public E-Mail" field. This optional feature will create a "contact artist" button on your pages. If you do not fill in this field the "contact artist" button will not appear on your pages.
|
5. How does the e-mail form work? |
Once a viewer clicks the "Contact Artist" button, a form is provided to send you mail, which requires their name and valid e-mail address. The e-mail goes straight to you and cannot be stored or viewed by ArtActiveOnline. It is just like ordinary e-mail except that the viewer cannot send attachments.
|
6. If ArtActiveOnline created the email form, does that mean you can read my e-mails? |
No!
The e-mail generated from a viewer goes straight to you and cannot be stored or viewed by ArtActiveOnline.
|
7. How do you keep site visitors from taking members’ e-mail addresses? |
To reduce the incidence of spammers taking new addresses from out the site, your public e-mail address is not made into an active e-mail link. If a viewer wishes to contact you an e-mail form will be generated when they click the "contact artist" button.
